Premier's Spelling Bee

This year Oran Park Public School students will be given the opportunity to participate in the prestigious Premiers Spelling Bee Competition. This is a state-wide competition that was introduced in 2004 to provide a fun and educational way for primary students to engage in spelling. We are providing the opportunity for students in STAGE 2 (years 3 and 4) and STAGE 3 (year 5 and 6) to participate in the Premiers Spelling Bee Competition. 

The first stage of the competition will be held at school on Wednesday 20 July 2022 (Term 3 Week 1). It is a knockout so once a competitor spells a word incorrectly, they will be eliminated, until we have 2 competitiors left. The 2 winners from each stage will preogress to the Regional Finas which will take place between Monday 29 August to Friday 9 Septmeber 2022 (Term 2 Week 7 and 8). 

The word lists are accessible on the website listed below and your chlid is encouraged to learn and practice as many words listed as possible leading up to the competition. Stage 2 hsould be looking at lists on levels 1-5 and Stage 3 should look at lists on levels 2-6. 

Entry in the competition is optional and every student who participates in the competition received a certificate. If your child would to participate, notes are available from their class teacher and should be returned to Mrs Caronna by Fruday 27 May 2022.
