Footsteps Program - Year 2 Students in Year 2 will participate in a school dance program that will be delivered by external provider 'Footsteps'. The program will run for 10 weeks in Term 3. Students will participate in 45 minute sessions during class time . Students will develop their interpersonal skills, intrapersonal skills and fitness levels whilst being supported by trained staff. This program directly links to the Creative Arts (dance) Syllabus, which is a teaching requirement in NSW. The first session is free of charge and all students will participate.

Support Multi-Sports Day Oran Park Public School’s support unit students’ in years 2-6 have been invited to attend a Multi-sports day at Penrith Valley Regional Sports Centre. The days will be fun and inclusive of all disabilities, with sports modified and adapted to suit the needs of students, from support, SSP and mainstream settings. Date/Time: Tuesday 10 September 2024 8:50am - 2:45pm Cost: $35.00 Venue: Penrith Valley Regional Sports Centre Clothing: Full sports uniform including hat. Food: Students must provide their own food as there will be no opportunities to purchase food.

Wollongong Science Centre - Year 3 Excursion

Wollongong Science Centre - Year 3 Excursion To compliment student learning in Science and Technology as well as English, students in Year 3 will be attending an excursion to the Wollongong Science Centre. Here students will experience the most digitally advanced Planetarium in NSW, featuring the full-dome immersive show "Our Place in Space." A live presenter will guide students through the wonders of the solar system. Students will also participate in a captivating science demonstration and explore over 90 hands-on exhibits, showcasing STEM in action. These exhibits align with the NSW Curriculum, providing practical applications and engaging ways to learn. Please note that students will be returning to school after the normal school dismissal time. This means that they will not be be able to access normal school bus routes and alternate arrangements will need to be made by parents/carers. Date/Time: Wednesday 11 September 2024 10:30am - 4:45pm Cost: $40.00 Venue: Wollongong Science Centre (Puckey Avenue, Innovation Campus, North Wollongong, NSW, 2500) Transport: Coach. Year 2 Excursion Sydney Zoo An excursion has been arranged for students in Year 2 to attend Sydney Zoo on Thursday 19th September 2024. This excursion will aim to support and enrich their learning in the classroom. Year 2 will have the opportunity to learn about features of wildlife and their habitats through an interactive workshop and zoo tour.
